I was incredibly excited when Kirsan called to ask if I would do a friend’s session with her and her BFF (best friend forever), Jordan and then design a card for them for their graduation party. I had one of my most fun shoots in the fall when I did Kirsan’s senior session. I love this girl’s personality. Their session was looking a little iffy when we got 6 inches of snow yesterday, but warm Mr. Sunshine came out this morning and melted most of it all away. It turned out to be a fantabulous day for a photo shoot.
We waited all winter long for some snow and it really never came….until one week after spring sprung! It was a gorgeous, wet, fluffy snow and was so pretty. It made you want to snuggle up and light a fire. I got domestic and whipped up some pumpkin cookies, which wasn’t such a great thing after working so hard at the gym all week. Since I no longer have little kids who want to go out and play in the snow, I had to resort to going out with the dog….very exciting, I know! Here’s a collage of a few backyard pictures from this pretty snow, which, by the way, melted the next day!
We knocked out one rockin’ hour of Mel’s session before the rain started coming down. We weren’t done yet and it wasn’t raining too hard, so we just kept going. Eat your heart of Tyra! Right, Mel? We had a great hour at the Overland Park Arboretum and I really enjoyed getting to know Mel and her momma. I learned some new terminology that I will be sure to use in the future….wink, wink McCoy’s!
We were determined to finish our shoot because we had big plans to head to the creek. We traveled over rocky, cow pie infested fields to get to the creek and a little rain was not about to stop Ms. Mel. She pulled out her gorgeous prom dress and then braved the cold water in the creek. It was my weekly adventure! Thanks Mel and Kelly for a great senior session!
