You might remember my post a few weeks ago where I went on a shooting spree with my pal, Tasha.  I made her let me take her pictures that day, even though she was “ready” for that.  So, I was so thrilled when she contacted me to do some head shots for her.    Gorgeous Tasha is heading to audition to be a cruise ship entertainer!!!!  A cruise ship entertainer!!!!  This girl has pipes….unbelievable pipes!  She is an incredible artist who has a real gift.   I was her pastor when she won “Youth America’s Idol” at a summer camp of 800 students.  Wow, were we all so proud of OUR Natasha.  I am still so proud of Natasha.  I love this girl and everything about her!  I am blessed to know her and was blessed to photograph her for this important step in her young life.

I loved the fact that Danielle knew exactly what she wanted in her senior portraits.  She knew she wanted the natural backgrounds and the kind of places that just say “I’m a Kansas girl”.   Although cornfields and flint hills speak Kansas, it’s not that time of the year and the flint hills are just a bit too far away from the amazing Kansas City area.    So, we found some beautiful natural spots and set about to capture some stunning senior portraits for this incredible sweet and friendly graduate!

It was a tab bit chilly, but she kept smiling and looking fabulous.  Once again, it was an amazing session and the images I got just blew my mind.  Thank you Danielle and Carrie.  It was such a pleasure to spend a couple hours with you!

Sometimes I shock myself at how comfortable I am with new clients…I probably shock them too!   They might not know what to think when the photographer is squealingwith delight over a perfect shot… I think today I actually might have jumped up and down and twirled around.  But, you see, ALL the elements came colliding together in sweet picture perfection….the lighting, her smile, the exactly perfect amount of wind through her hair and SHAZAM! WOW! HOLY MOLY….the shot was nailed.    I can’t explain how fun that moment is.  It just IS.

So, I was just so at ease with Katie and her mom; probably because they are just really wonderful people and made my job even easier and definitely more fun.  We had a great shoot for Katie’s senior portraits and I am ga-ga over her images.  She has the most stunning dark eyes and she knew how to work it out!  Thanks so much Katie and Shelley.  It was just a blast for me.

Katie plays Varisty softball, bolwing and volleyball!  Go girl!

This may have been the jumping, twirling shot…isn’t she so gorgeous?

I don’t know why I am so honored and blessed to be able to meet and work with such wonderful people like Kourtney and her mom, but I am so thankful for it!  Yesterday was just such a perfect perfect day for taking portraits.  I meet Kourtney and her family at the River Market and Kourtney was so fabulous!   She brought such great outfits and she was stunning in every picture I took.  The light was ultra delicious yesterday….it was a photographers dream day.   I had such a great time and I’m so glad that you guys loved the experience too.

I felt like I was back at my ole stompin’ grounds today.  I adore the RiverMarket area and I love shooting there.  It was such a great treat to be back there today with gorgeous and sweet, Leslie, for her senior portrait experience.   Her boyfriend, Ernie, was along to help and to get in a few shots.  They have dated almost entirely through high school and in the fall will both be headed to KU.   The first outfit was KU garb and you’ll have to wait to see those.  It was so hard to pull out just these 7 shots to share right away.  They look amazing, Leslie and I can’t wait to hear your mom’s reaction since she couldn’t be along for the shoot.
