Once again, I had the opportunity to second shoot a beautiful wedding.   I don’t get the opportunity to get to know the couple before the big day, but it’s not hard to learn the important things in the hours spent shooting their wedding.  Like important thing #1:  Christina and Ercan are deeply in love and #2:  they have an amazingly loving family.    The wedding was held at Deer Creek Country Club in Overland Park on one of the hottest days of this summer.   Ercan is from Turkey and Christina has lived there for years.  They incorporated the Turkish exchange of rings in their ceremony, gave out Turkish Delight to guests and had a beautiful wedding.

Some of the details of the day.

Christina and her sisters.

The children in this wedding, nieces and nephews of Christina, were over the top adorable.  I love the girls checking out what the boys are doing.

Christina and Ercan’s “first look” and later getting away in the golf cart.

The bridesmaids and the groomsmen.

Christina with one of her nephews and her nieces/flowergirls.

Don’t blame me….I was smitten with the adorable boys in blue!

A few moments stolen away for some shots of the bride and groom.

I loved this shot of the flowergirls peeking in to see and be ready for their entrance.  Christina and Ercan – you are a beautiful couple!

A moment with Christina and her father before her processional and the Turkish exchange of rings.

Why should I be surprised that in August in Kansas it reaches 95 degrees for my photo shoot?  Probably because we have been so spoiled this summer with unbelievably coolish weather.     One good thing about this kind of heat is that people don’t spend their afternoon at the Arboretum, so we had the place virtually to ourselves!   Despite the heat, we had an amazing shoot with Katy!  She was like a rock-star dealing with the heat and still looking so cool and gorgeous.  Katy is my Janelle’s friend and Janelle was on hand to be my assistant for the shoot.  Good thing, because I needed her.    We spent a couple of hours at the Overland Park Arboretum and then ventured out for some railroad track pictures with Katy’s guitar.  Personally, those pictures turned out to be my favorites.  I have a feeling they really captured Katy’s personality best.  I hope she loves them all!
