Josh, Shelby and I had a wonderful time at the River Market on a gorgeous November afternoon creating these and many, many, many more creative maternity portraits. They are anxiously expecting the arrival of their daughter at the first of January…or maybe sooner! This little precious life will be the first grandchild on both sides of the family. I can say from personal experience that being the first is so special and fun! Brandon was the first in our families and you would have thought he was a prince or something. I am so thrilled for them and the blessing of a child being brought into their lives. Life is a precious, precious gift. Thank you God!
Josh and Shelby indulged me in my goofy idea. Don’t hate me… I love it!
Hello gorgeous momma!
Graffiti announcing their Pip Squeak! Hahaha
Gardner-Edgerton High School may just have some of the sweetest and prettiest senior girls around…at least the two I have taken pictures of in the last couple of weeks are. I meet the beautiful Lauren at her home for a very special senior portrait session that was uniquely customized to her. I really had such a wonderful time with her and her mother. Funny story….I’m used to hearing hoots and hollers from people passing by when they see these gorgeous girls I shoot, but this session Lauren actually had a boy come up and ask for her number. Apparently, it was a sorta dare from some friends. Lauren was a good sport and made the guy look good by writing on his hand, but he didn’t actually get HER number. It’s a fun job! Look at how beautiful this girl is…
This was my third year to photograph the V family for their annual family picture. It was so great to see how much the kids had grown this past year. This year, we stepped out of the box and headed to a vintage barn for some unique family portraits. It was pretty fitting for dad since he grew up on a Kansas farm. I wondered how he knew so much about every weed. Thank you so much V family! I had such a great time with you!
Here are the kiddos from the first time I photographed them….awwww!
So after months of begging and bugging and excuses and put offs, I finally managed to get my own daughter, Janelle, out for her senior pictures. Who would have guessed that the second Saturday in November would be one of the prettiest days of the fall? I gotta tell you that I took about 300 less shots of Janelle than I do on an average senior shoot. First off, she really wasn’t that into it. Secondly, I know her attention span! I am really happy with the pictures that I got of her, but would have loved more and if you will scroll down to the end of this blog post, you will see the craziness that is Janelle that I had to work around! She doesn’t like to have her pictures taken and she is silly – two things that add up to non-cooperation! Janelle is one of the great loves of my life and I am biased beyond belief that she is utterly gorgeous and wonderful in every way!
And now for the outtakes….
You gotta love the “get r done” attitude of senior guys. For the most part, getting their senior pictures taken is something they do for their mom’s sake. Maybe, secretly, they enjoy it, right? It doesn’t matter to me, I’m having fun either way! I did have a fun time with Tom on his senior photo shoot. We worked it out in the perfect amount of time and I captured some great pictures of this busy Blue Valley West senior.
