The Salvation Army enlisted the help of thousands of Kansas City volunteers this weekend to pack over ONE MILLION meals to send to the earthquake victims of Haiti.  What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.  I saw volunteers as young as 3 years old to maybe 90 years old.  With every 10,000 meals packaged they would bang a gong and announce the total.  Almost every 10 to 15 minutes they rang the gong.   Sometimes when these tragedies happen, you can feel so helpless to help, but there is usually a way.   Get on the mailing list for organizations like The Salvation Army or Red Cross.  They will keep you updated when opportunities arise.

Today is a special day.  It is my husband, Bryan’s, birthday.  In honor of his birthday, my favorite four and my four favorite people in the whole wide-wide world!  I am TRULY blessed!

My best friend for 26 years, my boyfriend for 25 years, my husband for 21 years….the birthday boy today – Bryan!

I have so many irons on the fire right now, that I’m forgoing the “small talk” to get to right to my favorite four today! 

Talk about a good looking family?  Wow!

My first Pictures of Hope Foundation complimentary NICU session was with the beautiful Smith family and one of their twin boys.  I met with them again to capture brother.  Both boys are home now and doing great.  Prayers answered!

The adorable Park maternity session was such fun and memorable.

The Rebers took advantage of one of my Mini Session Days this fall to get this and other great family pictures.

Well, we’re almost there….the end of the month…the end of February Favorite Four.  Without delay – today’s 4 favs!

I already posted one picture from Matt & Tracy’s maternity session, but I mean, are you kidding me with the absolute stunning glowingness of Tracy????   An all time favorite of mine, no question.

Brittany drove quite a ways to meet me at The Plaza for her senior portrait session.  She was so wonderful to work with!

Same with Shelby – she came a bit of a way too for her senior session.  We had a gorgeous day to take this gorgeous picture.

For a few years now, I have been recruited to create some posters for the Blue Valley West football team and softball team.  This picture reminds me that spring is just right around the corner!

The last week of my February Favorite Four.  This turned out to be more work than I thought.  It’s definitely not hard to find 4 photos I love each day, but remembering to take the time to post them has turned out to be a little tougher.   Once my Senior Portrait season starts to heat back up here in March, I will be posting almost every day.  This month, my shoots have been a bit more out of the ordinary for me; a 21 member family group, some real estate agents’ business card pictures, and coming up an orthodontics office, a huge volunteer event at the Salvation Army and two events at my church.    You may find me blogging about these in the coming weeks.

Rachel is a Thrive Spokesmodel from Blue Valley West and is a truly amazing girl – from the inside out. 

This is another gorgeous “Rachel” from Shawnee Mission Northwest.  The day we did her pictures was so beautiful and way before the leaves had turned and fell, but we found this ONE tree at Loose Park that had turned  and we gathered up as many leaves as we could. 

Doesn’t this picture just make you happy?  It’s one of my all time favorites.  Laura was so fun to work with.

Ahhhh….Jessica and Chris again.  I had one of them from their engagement session laying down in the grass as the sun was going down and now another but in the snow on a super cold day in January.  We got together for a real quick snow shoot and I can’t wait for their wedding in May!

Today I’m digging out some oldies and to add to some from this year.  Today’s post is all about senior pictures! I L-O-V-E shooting senior portraits and working with seniors.  It is always fun, new, and interesting and I have just worked with the BEST seniors out there.   This post contains graduates of the Class of  2o09 and 2010! 

Sasha is a gorgeous Olathe Northwest senior from the Class of 2010 who is a Thrive Spokesmodel.  She conquered her fear of bugs for this shot – since you never know what you may run into when you lay down in tall grass!  Worth it!

Val is a Class of 2010 senior from Blue Springs Senior High.   I love this picture so much – the colors, her smile, her eyes….awesome!

Katie was a 2009 graduate from Olathe Northwest and we had one of my most memorable senior photo shoots ever.  It was full of variety and just a really great time.  Her stunning beauty was so captured in this close up.

Kirsan was another one of my most fun shoots from the Class of 2009.   Spunky, beautiful and completely photogenic – her senior pictures were so “her”.

Now, onto today’s FAV 4!

Another great wedding that I had the opportunity to second shoot with Laurel Austin of Living Moment Images.   It was a HOT one, but doesn’t the green grass and the sunshine looks so amazing right now?    I don’t know about you, but I am ready for it! 

This next picture is from a couple who did a Belly and Baby Session with me.  We had a blast shooting their maternity session at the River Market and I posted a fun picture from that a couple weeks ago in my Favorite Four.  Today, I picked a fun shot from their newborn photography session when Kallie was just 10 days old.  This shot was their idea because they both have very big feet and Kallie was born with feet that actually went off the page for the birth document! 

Kimmie is an amazing senior from St. Pius X High School and this is one of my favorite pictures of her.

Another amazing senior from Olathe Northwest, Lauren, had a shoot full of fall goodness – sunshine and vibrant leaves.
