You may have thought I had fallen off the face of the earth!  No blogging for almost an entire month!  Well, to say I have been busy would be an understatement.  My business has been blessed and “thriving” and I just simply had to let something wait.    Not only has business been a boomin’, but I have taken a big and exciting step into moving my business from my home and into a studio!  I will hopefully have more on that to share with you soon.  I have had the lease for one month, but even today, I am not fully moved in.    Since keeping my promises on my deadlines is so important to me, I haven’t felt that I could take the time to shut down for a day or two to move my office.    Even though things have not slowed down, I am hoping to make the move this week.  It’s all very exciting….and tiring!  But, I am thanking God for all his good and precious gifts and His hand on my life.  Truly, all the glory belongs to Him!

So, I decided this morning (after my daughter texted me and said “mom, you really need to update your blog”), that I would make an entry!  This beautiful family had their portraits taken way back in July on a hot, hot day.  We even started at 7:30 am, but it was a steamy one!  They are simply an adorable family and I had a blast taking these pictures.  They make me smile…a lot!

It is with much delight that I share today’s images with you!  When I showed up for this shoot, I had no idea how fun and amazing these pictures would be.  Fran has an incredibly gorgeous back yard, which she landscapes herself, and two fluffy and cute maltipoos named Hugs and Kisses!  They were like little toy dolls as they posed perfectly for the camera and Fran is a breath of fresh air!  What a fun job this is!

I was so thrilled to get to see and photograph the King Family again!  They booked Thrive Creative Studio for a Belly & Baby Session last year and had a super adorable maternity session in November and then a newborn session in January.    When they called to book a 6 month session, I knew they would bring the fashion and the fun to their shoot and they did not disappoint!

This was a very special newborn shoot for me.  You see, the new mommy, Natalie, is a beautiful young woman whom I have been blessed to know since she was in 7th grade and a student in the youth group that I pastored.  She and I have had our really special moments over these years; we went on mission trips, camps and retreats together, and worked together to build one of the best youth worship bands in Kansas City.  Natalie is an anointed worship leader and she started with a bunch of other hungry 15 year olds in the youth room at Church of the Harvest.  She decided to quit basketball in 8th grade to be part of our worship team and eventually she was leading it and it was phenomenal!  Now, she is married to an awesome man, David, and she and David our the current youth pastors at the church where I once lead her.    Isn’t God just so good?

So beautiful baby Gabby and I had our first meeting when she was 5 days old and these are the sweet little images that she gave me.   Love. Love. Love.  With all my heart!

Yesterday I posted images of Pardeep’s sister, Navdeep.  Both are coming upon monumental achievements in life; a high school graduation and Pardeep’s college graduation from UMKC.   They each did a Sweet & Simple Session and spent an hour each with me on separate days creating pictures that were special for them.  For Navdeep, we headed to the city streets, but for Pardeep, we went to one of the most beautiful gardens in Kansas City.  We went early to beat the heat and had a lovely time.  Pardeep is just beautiful and her images reflect that!
