Charles and Katherine had a gorgeous October wedding on a picturesque fall day just 10 days ago. Their beautiful wedding ceremony took place at Colonial Presbyterian Church on Wornall Road and the grand brick church with it’s stately columns offered an amazing backdrop for their stunning portraits. Despite a pretty wild wind, the weather that day was perfect. Katherine was the most stunning bride. She really did look like a princess. The deep love between the two of them was so evident throughout the entire day. Everything was just perfect. The reception was held at The Ritz Charles in Overland Park and it was amazing. Since I seem to be struggling with words today and my camera captured the story of the day, I think I will just get on with sharing their beautiful wedding day photos. I will first just say to Charles and Katherine and their families, thank you! Thank you for hiring me to photograph your wedding. It was an honor, a privilege and a blast. You two are beautiful people! I pray God blesses your marriage in every way you can dream of!

We started the day off with the o so handsome groom, Charles, and his groomsmen.

Then they had to wait….for a while. What did wedding parties do before cell phones with internet?

Meanwhile… Katherine is getting all princessed up!

Are you kidding me with this beauty? Wow, Katherine, you are a stunning bride!

Good golly what a handsome group!

Let the party begin!

I can’t help it, I love it when the cake sharing is tender and sweet.

Very beautiful and heartfelt toasts.

First Dance? O, yes, they rocked it.

All the single ladies…

Do you think Charles guessed his bride’s legs? Maybe you can tell by Katherine’s reaction

I love this couple! So fun.

Family + Friends + Wedding = Celebration!

Both Katie and Brandon love the Lord and had waited for Him to bring “the one” to them. What a beautiful thing God has done!!
It was such a complete honor to be brought close to this couple through capturing their love and excitement during their engagement session; all the way to my bird’s eye view to their beautiful wedding day. Being a wedding photographer has such incredible blessings attached to it and seeing and photographing all the emotion, love and thrill of this precious and priceless day for this couple.
Thank you Brandon and Katie for inviting me to capture your amazing love for each other. I could not be more happy for you two and look forward to seeing God continue to bless your lives together!
So…. brace yourself for some beautifulness! I begin with, actually, The Day After Portraits. I met up with Katie and Brandon the day after their wedding for some blow you away romantic wedding portraits. No coaching necessary on these shots; they were caught up in each other entirely.

Now….on to the big day!

The fabulous wedding party!

A beautiful ceremony at St. Thomas Moore Church.

These wedding images from the July 16th wedding of Matt and Amanda speak: They speak love. They speak joy. They speak family and finally, they speak fun. My mere words could hardly express what you can see in these photographs. The Crowne Plaza Hotel was the site for both their wedding and their reception. The zebra print theme was carried so beautifully from the bridal party’s shoes, to the cake, to the gorgeous table covers. It was one hot day in Kansas City that Saturday, so we opted to get a permit and shoot their portraits at The Union Station. What a stunning location and everyone appreciated the air conditioning. The reception was off the hook fun. These people know how to have a good time and the DJ was phenomenal!
It was such a huge blessing to be a part of the Coble’s big day. Thank you for choosing Thrive to be your wedding photographer, Matt and Amanda!

I love this shot below. Amanda was standing over the air conditioner while everyone helped her finish up. This truly was Amanda’s day.

Matt and Amanda opted to have a First Look. It was such a beautiful moment.

Very heartfelt and touching toasts and also some great laughs! Matt and Amanda didn’t hold back on the cake smash either.

I caught this emotional moment right after the Father/Daughter dance. There is so much love in this family.

Alrighty then….let the dancing begin…

Matt got down rapping Ice Ice Baby.

Thanks again, Cobles! It was such a blast!

Matt and Amanda are getting married in less than a month at The Crown Plaza Hotel in Kansas City. We had a great time getting to know each other better and creating their amazing engagement portraits back in April. I am so excited about the upcoming wedding day.

It will be hard to find words to describe the joy and peace that enveloped the entire day of Max and Meagan’s wedding. These childhood sweethearts, together since 7th grade, were very obviously overjoyed about marrying each other. They married on a Sunday and choose Kansas City’s historic The Loretto for both the ceremony and the reception. The Loretto is listed on the National Historic Registry and was once a Catholic girl’s boarding school. It is a venue rich with, not just history, but elegance and amazing light! It provided a beautiful backdrop to Meagan’s overwhelming beauty. Meagan was a stunning bride.
The day went off without a single hitch. When the moment finally arrived that Meagan stepped out that door to walk down the aisle to Max, there couldn’t have been bigger smiles and more love. Well, actually, I take that back. There were bigger smiles…when they were announced “husband and wife” and walked down the aisle together as Mr. and Mrs. Khatthaname! Quite honestly, they looked as though they could explode with happiness.
Max and Meagan are very skilled swing dancers with a crew of swing dancing friends; so their reception dance floor was full of twirling, swinging young people having the time of their lives. There came a point when Meagan was ready to change out of her wedding dress into a dress for some serious swing dancing. What a really fun reception to shoot.
I have been blessed to know Meagan’s family since we first moved to Kansas 11 years ago and have had some of the best and most profound times of my life with her sisters as their youth pastor. It was so special to be behind the scenes with this awesome family for this most important day in their lives. I count it just one more blessing in my life since knowing this family. Max and Meagan, from the bottom of my heart I thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. It was an honor and privilege to be intimately involved in capturing your love; from your awesome engagement session to this day. I know that God will bless your marriage with joy, happiness and peace as you seek to walk out your new life together to serve Him and bring Him glory.

The gorgeous bride getting ready.

There is always a lot of laughter with this family.

I wish that you could see the picture on the right bigger because it would melt your heart!

Meagan had a wonderful friend do her hair and makeup. She did a fab job.

Seriously, could their be cuter kiddos in the entire world?

The moment has finally arrived!

The love between them was so palpable; like there was no one else in the room.

Isn’t The Loretto’s chapel gorgeous?
Meagan’s dad took a moment to share some words with Max at the altar. They must have been good ones by the smile on Max’s face.

We do! We did!!!!!

The first moments after walking down the isle. Love it!

Check out Meagan’s new family in the bottom right picture. She has a lot of new relatives!

Beautiful bride and beautiful bridesmaids!

Handsome groom and handsome groomsmen!

The details.

Her gorgeous dress looks even more gorgeous in The Loretto’s entry way.

Can I just be the first to say….WOW! Meagan you are stunning!!!

I love these images with all my heart!

The reception begins…..

They were so sweet and tender with the cake and the toasts were so touching.

I will never listen to Colbie Cailat’s “Lucky” without thinking of Max and Meagan.

Let the dancing commence!

Not sure when this kiss happened, but I am so glad I caught it!

Bet you can’t guess what song this was? lol

Meagan and Max changed so that they could really cut the rug; and cut it they did!

My last picture of the night was the one on the right. It was a great shot to end on, don’t you think?

Matt and Tiffany had an absolutely gorgeous wedding last Saturday at the Country Club Christian Church on Ward Parkway. The sun was shining and the sky was blue; it was the perfect day to be wed! I totally adored working with Tiffany and Matt. Tiffany was a photographer’s dream client with her organization and her detailed spreadsheets! I really appreciated her attention to detail and the very detailed vendor list (as seen below). Tiffany wore the sweetest turquoise boots under her beautiful wedding dress. After the ceremony, we were off for big adventures around Kansas City. First stop, O’Dowd’s Little Dublin for a group shot…. or two. They even invented a new shot: ”The Smurf” with colors that matched the guys tuxes and a whipped cream top! We then headed out to The Nelson-Atkins Art Museum where we had great fun taking the groups shots and then I got Tiffany and Matt alone for just a few minutes for some special wedding portraits. Our last stop before heading to the reception was Liberty Memorial, with it’s spectacular view of the city. The highlight, though, was Matt snagging the Ice Cream Truck out front.
It was a perfect day and Tiffany the perfect bride; beautiful, calm and happy. Matt was so thrilled to be marrying Tiffany. It was just wonderful! Thanks you Mr. and Mrs. McCalla for choosing me to be your photographer for your big day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and blessings!

Without further ado…. Tiffany & Matt’s Wedding Day Unveiled!
Matt grabbed a hat from their Shutterbooth prop box for our rooftop portraits at Club 1000. I had the “Just Hitched” signs. Perfection!

What a gorgeous dress.

Tiffany’s mom adds the final touch.. the veils.

Tiffany, you are just beautiful!

Tiffany’s brother walked her down the isle to her awaiting groom. The ring bearer got about as far as me (in the four row from the back) and turned around and walked out! So cute!

This was just the beginning of Matt making things fun.

Party bus!

Toasting with the new shot, “The Smurf” at O’Dowd’s Little Dublin on the Country Club Plaza.

The guys really wanted to stand with the headless art at the Nelson, but we found a way to follow the rules and came up with this fun shot.

Oaky, so seriously, is this not the perfect picture of them?
And the bottom left picture was totally Tiffany’s idea….I swear!

I so appreciated the time they gave me to capture pictures of just the two of them.

The aforementioned Ice Cream Truck….

Some rooftop gorgeousness.

Hello beautiful Club 1000 and wonderful wedding guests

Matt and Tiffany did a very special first dance which they had worked hard on for months. It was spectacula!

Not exactly sure what Matt’s doing to cause Tiffany’s reaction here. Hmmmm?

Fun, fun details.

Nicole and Chris had a beautiful destination wedding in San Juan, Puerto Rico on May 8th and then headed out on a long cruise with their close friends and family to celebrate. I came into the picture after their return from the cruise and their amazing and fun wedding celebration and reception on May 20th! There was a real sense of calm and just plain excitement from the moment I arrived at Nicole’s hotel room. Hey, she’s a newlywed and with the “I do’s” done, she was ready to celebrate! Nicole’s beautiful eyes never stopped shining and her gorgeous smile never left her face all day long. She and Chris had such a fun and close group of family and friends in their wedding party. The threatening weather forecast for the day was looming over our heads, but amazingly Plan B was never called upon! Just at the right time, the clouds broke and the moment we arrived at our first portrait destination, The Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, the sun made it’s appearance! O my gosh, what a great time we had! As you can see below, this group came to have fun.
The reception was tremendous; from the food to the cake to the music! Everything top notch! The Mikey Needlman Band was a phenomenal choice and had the dance floor moving and grooving all night. What a great celebration. Thank you Nicole & Chris for giving me the privilege of capturing your fun day! Congratulations and all my best wishes for a happy and fun life together.

Though Chris and Nicole already got married on May 8th, they opted to have a special time of seeing each other for the first time all alone (well, with the exception of me and my 2nd shooter, Nathan Choate, and my assistant, Kathy.)

Getting the party started!

A very fun group of fellas. Why not have fun with your portraits, right?

Actually, a very fun wedding party all the way around! What a blast.

Nicole and her guys and her momma.

AYKM with the gorgeousness of Nicole and Chris!

Nicole, you are one smokin’ hot bride…just saying.

Introducing, Mr. and Mrs. Carr!

These were some eager bachelors!

No doubt about it, Nicole enjoyed her night and danced the night away.

The bag over the head trick on the best man!

Ha ha ha ha! Nicole, your face is priceless.

Gorgeous!
Pretty sure that the bottom right picture is “Don’t Stop Believing”.

Gotta love the “after” shots.

Who wasn’t having fun at this reception? No one!

Nicole and The Children’s Hospital crew and Chris and the crew from Warsaw!

Not just beautiful, but delicious! Yum!
